MICRO NEEDLING

Micro needling is a cosmetic procedure which involves rolling or pricking the skin and scalp with tiny sterilized needles.

Mechanism is to generate new collagen and skin tissue to smooth, firm, and tone skin.

Micro needling works by stimulation of stem cells and inducing activation of growth factors. The small wounds cause more collagen and elastin induction leading to younger looking skin and hair growth on scalp.

Patient needs to apply topical numbing cream and to keep for 45 minutes. After cleaning with betadine, derma roller or hand held derma pen is rolled over affected skin.

Healing cream and sunscreen applied. Patient needs to take sun protection before and after the procedure.

It is minimally surgical and hence safe. Strict sun protection is required after procedure.
